Laughing Through Sora 2 Experiments

Sora 2 has turned into my personal improv studio. Most nights end with me shooting over ridiculous clips to friends—usually starring my sphynx cat, Baldwin, doing the kind of gravity-defying parkour he could never be bothered with in real life. Remixing someone else’s prompt, then twisting it into something entirely absurd, is still the fastest way to make the group chat cry-laugh.

When the AI Slop Hits

The “AI slop” is still very real. High-motion scenes—skateboarding, snowboarding, Muay Thai sparring, even a pickup game—can suddenly sprout extra limbs or melt a character’s body like they slipped into another dimension. Quick action beats look fine, but full-on sequences still wobble at the edges.

Prompting Experiments

I’ve tested both ends of the prompt spectrum:

  • Simple: “A man riding a bike.”
  • Verbose: “A man riding a bicycle through a quiet city street at sunrise, soft golden light reflecting on the pavement, realistic cinematic style, smooth natural camera motion, detailed environment and lifelike movement.”

Sometimes the short prompt wins with a believable result; other times the verbose version surprises me with detail. Even repeating the exact words can yield wildly different clips—it still feels a little random, so I’ve embraced the chaos and iterate until something sticks.

Future Potential (and Uncertainty)

Despite the glitches, Sora 2 still produces some remarkable visuals. I’m genuinely excited to see where the model goes next, even if the roadmap isn’t entirely clear yet. The platform’s quiet timeline helps, too—no mysterious algorithm blasting me with videos I didn’t ask for, and not a single ad (for now!). Plus, the Android rollout means my non-iPhone crew can finally jump in and trade clips with me. 🎉
